- Mrs. LaVica Sipe, 84, of Sullivan died at 11:12 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 8, 1983) in St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the First Church of God, Sullivan. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan. Friends may call at the McMullin Funeral Home, Sullivan, from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to the First Church of God. Mrs. Sipe was born May 2, 1899, in Allenville, a daughter of Charles E. and Nora Ellen Plfer Winchester. She married Cline Sipe in 1927 at Decatur. He died in 1952. Surviving are one brother, John Winchester of Mattoon, and two sisters, Ruth Hamilton of Sullivan and Mrs. Frank (Billie) Schack of Clay City. One brother and two sisters preceded her in death. Mrs. Sipe was a member of the First Church of God, a charter member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union of Sullivan and the Missionary Society of the church and a member of the Moultre County Senior Citizens.
