- WARHOLIC, Michael
PORT MATILDA - Michael Warholic, 85, formerly of Beccaria and most recently of Port Matilda, died at Centre Community Hospital State Collage, on Wednesday, March 7, 2001,at 9:50 a.m. Mr. Warholic had resided with his daughter Mrs. Oscar (Patricia A.) Moore of Port Matilda for the past seven years. Born Aug. 25, 1915, in Beccaria, he was a son of George and Mary (Heresco) Warholic. Mr. Warholic was employed for 41 years as a coal miner and retired in 1971. He also owned and operated Mike's Saw Shop, Beccaria. He was a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ramey, and the United Mine Workers Association. On Oct. 31, 1936, in Madera he wed the former Helen Tutko, who proceeded him in death. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Oscar (Patricia A.) Moore of Port Matilda and Mrs. Larry (Delores M.) Belin of Falconer, NY; a son Michael J. Warholic and his wife, Brenda of Kennedy, NY; eight grand children and 19 great- grandchildren. Also surviving are five brothers and eight sisters, John Warholic of Twin Rocks, Wasco Warholic of Penn Run, Kathryn Raico and Anne Howlier, both of Mentor, Ohio, Frank Warholic of Patton, Helen Renbarger of Beacon N.Y., Nick Warholic of East Lakes Ohio, Margaret Wrobleski of Concord Ohio, Marie Kitko of Houtzdale R.D., George Warholic, Jr. of Houtzdale, Josephine "Dolly" Lowe of Coalport, RD, Eleanor "Patty" Bergstresser of McConnellsburg and Gloria "Jeanne" Gmerek of Philipsburg, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Warholic was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen, who died on July 8, 1984 and a brother. Divine Liturgy will be sung Saturday at 11 am, At St. Mary's Catholic Church Ramey, with the very Rev. James e. Poorman officiating, interment will follow at the church cemetery, Ramey. Friends will be received at Kruise Funeral Home Inc. Madera, today from 7-9, Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 , and Saturday from 9:30-10:30. Parastas will be sung Friday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with the Very Rev. Fr. Poorman. (The Progress, March 8, 2001).
