- JOHN BLAZOSKY PORT MATILDA - John Blazosky, 75, a resident of Port Matilda RD for the past 42 years, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Philipsburg State General Hospital at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. He had been in ill health for the past two years. A veteran of World War I, he served in France in Co. L, 314th Infantry of the AEF. Born at Mahonoy City, Pa., Aug. 22, 1888, he was the son of the late Peter and Ustina Ranish Blazosky. He was united in marriage to Elverda Cowher in Bellefonte in 1922. She survives along with these children. Clair J., Port Matilda; Mrs. Edward (Kathryn) Rissmiller, State College; John M., State College; and Mrs. Alfred (Martha) Douglas, Cannonsburg. These brothers and sisters also survive: Michael B., Beaverdale; Peter and Joseph, Philipsburg RD; Mrs. Mary Latz, Philipsburg RD, and Mrs. Michael Sudik, Hawk Run. Mrs. Blazosky was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, the American Legion and the Veterans for Foreign Wars in Philipsburg. Services will be conducted on Tuesday at 3 p.m. from the Black Oak HUB Church, Port Matilda, with Rev. Benjamin Grove, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Local veterans will preside at military graveside rites. Friends may call today from 2 until 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dahlgren Funeral Home, Third street, Philipsburg, and at the church from noon until time of services.
