- Menasha, Wis., Jan. 15 - Death has again entered the home of Joseph Sauter and taken from it the one he most needed in this time of trail and sickness. Mrs. Maggie Sauter died of typhoid fever at her home on Broad street at ten o'clock Thursday morning. She had been suffering from this disease about two weeks, and she was partially unconscious the last two days. Mrs. Sauter was thirty-six years of age. She was a sister of Will Huelsbeck, of this city, and was known as an excellent woman.
She was born in Milwaukee, but has spent the last twenty-five years in this vicinity. She leaves eight children, three boys and five girls, the oldest being a boy of seventeen, and the youngest a girl of two. A boy of eight years died a short time ago and was buried on Christmas Day. All the children have had the disease and two are still ill. One of them, six years old, is in a dangerous condition. This disease was brought into the Sauter family about six weeks ago, when Katie, the oldest girl, came home sick from nursing Mrs. Fred Eckris. Not knowing the disease to be typhoid fever, no effort was made to separate her from the other members of the family. Peter Sauter, a brother of Joseph Sauter, the appointed postmaster of Dundas, arrived here yesterday, but too late to see Mrs. Sauter alive, Joseph Huelsbeck, of Milwaukee, a brother of the deceased is in the city.

The remains were interred in St. Mary's burying ground, north of the city. The citizens of Menasha are fully in sympathy with Mr. Sauter and all in their power will be done to aid him in his many troubles.
